The Screening of “South Wind 2 – Speed Up” at the Prestigious 68th Pula Film Festival
The play “When Pumpkins Blossomed” based on the text by Dragoslav Mihailović, directed by Boban Skerlić, was staged on the grand stage of the Belgrade Drama Theatre in 2014. After seven successful seasons, the Belgrade Drama Theatre, in collaboration with the production company Archangel Digital, decided to give a new, digital life to the cult play that always plays to “one ticket more” and with undiminished intensity, one of the most sought-after. The live broadcast of the theater performance directly from the stage of Olivera and Rade Marković will be aired with available subtitles in English and Russian. This type of project is a novelty for Serbia, and the entire event will, as predicted by the organizers, shift the boundaries of the viewing experience in our country. The livestream of the theater performance, which will be broadcast across all meridians around the world, is the first project of its kind ever done in Serbia. The project is organized in collaboration with the Boxing Association of Serbia, the Boxing Federation of Russia, and the Ticket Vision company. The organizer and initiator of the project, Jug Radivojević, manager of the Belgrade Drama Theatre, and Miloš Biković, founder of Archangel Digital, estimate that this specific venture, a livestream of the theater performance in full duration of 140 minutes with a 30-minute accompanying program dedicated to the event, will be watched from Vladivostok to Los Angeles. Although they are a well-coordinated team, the premiere internet broadcast of the theater performance, scheduled for December 24, 2020, intended for audiences around the world brings a special excitement and great responsibility.
“We have been playing the play for seven years now, and every time I find new layers of meaning and discover how great a writer Dragoslav Mihailović is. As my perception of that play develops over the years, so, it seems, does my view of the world.” explained Miloš Biković. In the universal, timeless story that explores the limits of humanity and deals with the predominance of the instinct to defend honor over imposed norms, Miloš Biković is joined by Branislav Lečić, Marko Živić, Milan Čučilović, Anja Alač, Stefan Radonjić, Danica Ristovski, Slobodan Boda Ninković, and Miodrag Radonjić.
