Johnny Depp Was Awarded the Golden Medal for Merit of the Republic of Serbia
The first season of the animated series “Puffins Impossible,” created at Iervolino Studios in production with Archangel Digital Studios, and realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, has been completed. The series “Puffins Impossible,” created in Serbia, is a spin-off of the popular “Puffins” series featuring Johnny Depp in the leading role.
The appearance of the series’ main character, Johnny Puff, is inspired by the personality of the Hollywood actor, who, in addition to recognizable character and physical traits, also lent his voice to the character. On the occasion of the promotion of the first animated series produced in Serbia, Johnny Depp was a guest in Belgrade. Depp, along with Miloš Biković, founder of Archangel Digital Studios, visited Iervolino Studios. Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monica Bacardi, owners of Iervolino Studios and founders of the parent company Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment (ILBE), hosted Depp in the studio in Belgrade.
During his visit, the Hollywood actor spoke with the studio’s employees, toured all sectors, and addressed colleagues from the Novi Sad studio via Zoom. Johnny Depp expressed his admiration for the creativity of the people from Serbia and added that “the work done in just one year is simply incredible.” Moreover, Depp believes that “Puffins Impossible” is a series with an excellent story, humorous and educational, intended for all ages. Lady Monica Bacardi added that she considers Serbia to be one of the most inspiring markets with which ILBE operates and that “the production of the series ‘Puffins Impossible’ is proof that we have a capable, dedicated, and agile team ready for world-class projects.” Furthermore, Lady Monica Bacardi emphasized that the joint goal of Archangel Digital Studios and Iervolino Studios is to make Serbia the Hollywood, which is supported by the opening of an entire sector dedicated to post-production and visual effects (VFX).
Andrea Iervolino, after touring the studio in an official address, highlighted that “Puffins Impossible” is the first animated series created to the highest global standards, representing a significant leap for the local creative sector. He took the opportunity to thank Miloš Biković, who convinced him a year ago that everything he envisioned could be realized in Serbia.
On this occasion, Miloš Biković highlighted that the “Puffins Impossible” series represents a tremendous success for local artists, adding, “together, we have managed to launch the animation industry, thanks to innovative technologies, and in this way, we have given artists from our country the opportunity to work according to the standards of some of the world’s biggest studios.” In conclusion, Biković added that he believes there will be more projects like this in the coming period and stated, “we will continue to grow and create.”
The series “Puffins Impossible” will soon be available for streaming on leading global platforms, including Apple TV.
